Meta Data Defined

Meta Data: A group of data that is used to give information about the current webpage. Meta Data is used mostly by programs and scripts, web page viewers don’t see the meta data. Meta Data is stored by Meta Tags which reside in the head area of an HTML page.
Tip: You can check the Meta Data of any web page by selecting View — Source and looking inside the head tags
